Privacy policy
Last updated August 2026. This policy describes what this site actually does today — not what it might do later.
Who we are
ProperShort (propershort.com) is an independent editorial website about vertical short dramas. For any question about this policy, contact[email protected].
The short version
- We have no user accounts, no logins and no newsletter.
- We do not ask you for personal information, and there are no forms on this site.
- Your watchlist and tool inputs stay in your own browser's local storage. They are never transmitted to us.
- No advertising is running yet. This site is joining the Google AdSense programme, and once ads are live Google will use cookies to serve them.
- We do not currently run any analytics or tracking scripts of our own.
Information we collect
Directly from you: none. This site has no registration, no comments and no contact form. If you email us, we hold that email in our mailbox in order to reply to you, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Stored in your browser, not by us. Tools such as thewatchlist save data in your browser's local storage under the key sdl.watchlist.v1. This never leaves your device, we cannot read it, and you can erase it by clearing site data in your browser or by using the clear button on the watchlist page.
Server logs. Our hosting provider processes standard technical request data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) in order to serve pages and protect against abuse. We do not use these logs to build profiles of individual visitors.
Cookies
No advertising is running on this site yet. We are joining the Google AdSense programme, and the rest of this section describes what will happen once ads are switched on. It is published now so you can read it before that happens, not after.
Advertising cookies. Google, as a third-party vendor, will use cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visitingGoogle Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising ataboutads.info.
Third-party vendors and ad networks may serve ads on this site and may use cookies or web beacons to measure ad performance. We do not control these cookies and have no access to the data they collect.
This site sets no cookies of its own. Your watchlist and any figures you type into our tools stay in your browser's local storage and are never sent to us.
Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
No advertising, analytics or other non-essential cookies run on this site today, so no consent banner is shown yet. Before the first ad is served to a visitor in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, consent will be collected through a Google-certified consent management platform, giving you the ability to accept, refuse, manage and withdraw consent at any time.
Analytics
We currently run no analytics or measurement scripts. If that changes, this section will be updated first and consent obtained where required.
Third parties
- Hosting and CDN — serves the pages you request and processes technical request data as described above.
- Google AdSense — not yet active. Once it is, it serves advertising and sets advertising cookies.
- Fonts and assets — all fonts and images are served from our own domain. No third-party font or asset CDN is used, so no request is made to another company simply by loading a page.
External links
We link to official streaming platforms and other external sites. Once you follow such a link, that site's own privacy policy applies. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, what they collect.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we hold almost no personal data, in most cases there will be nothing for us to return or erase — but you are welcome to ask. Write to[email protected].
Data retention
Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Local storage data stays on your device until you clear it. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period under their standard terms.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever the site's actual data handling changes — in particular before advertising or analytics are switched on — and revise the date at the top.
