New Short Dramas in August 2026: What Nine Channels Uploaded
837 uploads across nine official short-drama YouTube channels in August. The month's thirteen biggest hits were almost all full episodes — which is the opposite of what our mid-month read showed.

Nine Channels, 837 Uploads, One Full Month
Across August 2026, nine official short-drama YouTube channels we track — ReelShort, DramaBox (which runs two separate channel identities), GoodShort (two identities), ShortMax (two identities), FlexTV English and MoboReels — uploaded 837 videos between them. A tenth channel we track, Pine Drama, uploaded nothing at all.
An earlier version of this article covered only 1–18 August, because that is where our collection stopped. It said the back half of the month would not appear until we ran the next collection. We have now run it, and the full month changes two of the conclusions we published. Both corrections are marked below rather than quietly swapped out.
One thing this article still is not: a list of what launched inside any app. It is a record of what these channels put on YouTube, and when. A title can land on a channel’s YouTube feed weeks after it went live in the app, or weeks before — the upload data cannot tell us which, so we are not going to pretend it can.
Correction One: The Month’s Biggest Hits Were Full Episodes
Reading only the first eighteen days, the highest view count anywhere belonged to a ten-second ReelShort behind-the-scenes clip at 144,532 views, and we wrote that up as a reminder that “most-viewed” and “best drama” measure different things.
With the whole month in view, that is no longer the shape of the data. August’s most-watched upload is a 34-minute 56-second DramaBox episode, I Sacrificed Everything to Save His Life. He Made Me Pay with Our Son, posted 18 August, at 558,888 views — nearly four times the clip we had been pointing at.
It is not a single outlier, either. Thirteen uploads cleared 100,000 views in August. Twelve of the thirteen run between fifteen and thirty-five minutes. Exactly one is under three minutes.
The eighteen-day read was not a miscalculation; it was a real measurement of an incomplete month, and the biggest uploads simply had not landed yet. That is the failure mode of every mid-month content round-up, including the one we published, and the only defence against it is to go back and redo the count.
The Split Median Views Hide
The one conclusion the full month does confirm is the mismatch between how much a channel posts and how much it gets watched. Drama Box English uploaded the most of anyone — 231 videos, 27.6% of everything — and has the lowest median view count of the nine, at 379. ReelShort uploaded the second-most at 195 and has the highest median, 24,364. That is a 64-fold gap between the two busiest channels, running opposite to volume.
But median alone turned out to be the wrong single number, and this is the part no other round-up of this category seems to run. Put each channel’s best August upload next to its median:
| Channel | Median views | Best upload | Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| ReelShort | 24,364 | 172,592 | 7× |
| ShortMax – Watch Dramas & Show | 1,251 | 8,308 | 7× |
| ShortMax – Multilingual | 990 | 10,134 | 10× |
| FlexTV English | 2,732 | 33,174 | 12× |
| GoodShort Moments | 9,918 | 424,132 | 43× |
| DramaBox | 12,596 | 558,888 | 45× |
| GoodShort Episodes | 730 | 52,251 | 72× |
| Drama Box English | 379 | 27,660 | 73× |
| MoboReels | 1,185 | 111,039 | 94× |
ReelShort has the highest median and the flattest distribution in the dataset. Almost everything it posts does roughly the same numbers, and nothing it posted in August broke away. DramaBox’s median is about half ReelShort’s, yet it produced the month’s single biggest upload and three of the top five — its channel behaves like a lottery, ReelShort’s like a salary.
Which one is “better” depends entirely on what you are asking. If you want to know what a typical upload does, the median answers it and ReelShort wins. If you want to know where the month’s actual hits came from, the median answers the wrong question — every one of the top six came from DramaBox or GoodShort Moments, the two channels that between them posted 168 full-length uploads and a single clip.
Channel by Channel
| Channel | Aug. uploads | Full-length | Clips (under 3 min) | Median views | Median length |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Drama Box English | 231 | 228 (99%) | 3 | 379 | 42:42 |
| ReelShort | 195 | 61 (31%) | 134 (69%) | 24,364 | 0:55 |
| ShortMax – Multilingual | 102 | 31 (30%) | 71 (70%) | 990 | 0:54 |
| GoodShort Moments | 85 | 85 (100%) | 0 | 9,918 | 20:05 |
| DramaBox | 84 | 83 (99%) | 1 | 12,596 | 20:39 |
| GoodShort Episodes | 62 | 62 (100%) | 0 | 730 | 16:37 |
| ShortMax – Watch Dramas & Show | 31 | 31 (100%) | 0 | 1,251 | 18:03 |
| FlexTV English | 30 | 30 (100%) | 0 | 2,732 | 70:27 |
| MoboReels | 17 | 17 (100%) | 0 | 1,185 | 19:37 |
(“Full-length” means the file runs past three minutes; anything shorter counts as a clip. We measure it from the actual duration, not from the title.)
Correction two: the eighteen-day version said seven of the nine channels posted nothing but full-length video. Over the full month that is five channels at 100% — GoodShort Moments, GoodShort Episodes, ShortMax’s Watch Dramas & Show, FlexTV English and MoboReels. Drama Box English and DramaBox each slipped in a handful of clips in the back half of the month, putting them at 99% rather than 100%. The two genuine outliers are unchanged: ReelShort and ShortMax’s Multilingual channel run 69% and 70% clips respectively.
Across all nine, 628 of the 837 uploads — 75% — ran three minutes or longer.
August Against July
This is the one cross-month comparison we are willing to make, and only because it is a count. Nine channels posted 837 videos in August against 704 in July — 27.0 a day against 22.7, a 19% increase. A video posted is a video posted; that number does not keep moving after the fact.
View figures do keep moving, which is why you will not find a month-on-month view comparison anywhere in this article. We measured that accumulation curve directly in our July round-up: a short-drama upload does nearly all of its viewing in the first week and is essentially finished after a month. Comparing August’s medians against July’s would mostly measure which month had longer to age.
Upload volume also held its shape. In the first eighteen days, the two busiest channels accounted for 49% of everything posted; across the full month they account for 50.9%. Weekly totals stayed within a narrow band too — 172, 185, 204 and 196 uploads across the four full weeks, with 80 more in the 29th-to-31st stub. August was not front-loaded or back-loaded; it was steady.
What Actually Got Watched
Views below were read on 1 September 2026, one day after the window closed. Everything in the back half of the month is still climbing.
| Channel | Top upload | Views | Length | Posted |

| GoodShort Moments | “Three Women Chose the Man Everyone Ignored” (Hero Husband’s Apocalypse Harem) | 424,132 | 21:20 | 22 Aug |
| ReelShort | “He Was Sent to Be ‘Cured’… Then He Fell for the One Man He Couldn’t Love” (Altarboy) | 172,592 | 22:26 | 28 Aug |
| MoboReels | “The Rogue Brother’s Claimed Omega — His Fated Mark Rejected Me” | 111,039 | 16:15 | 15 Aug |
| GoodShort Episodes | “My Mafia Husband Owes His Sister-in-Law a Child” | 52,251 | 27:44 | 3 Aug |

| Drama Box English | “To Dear Myself” (EP01) | 27,660 | 41:53 | 6 Aug |
| ShortMax – Multilingual | “Mon Alpha prédestiné” (French-language title) | 10,134 | 15:05 | 21 Aug |
| ShortMax – Watch Dramas & Show | “I, the God of Gamblers” | 8,308 | 18:38 | 29 Aug |
Two of the month’s top three came off the same GoodShort Moments series — an apocalypse-harem premise that placed at 424,132 and 287,850 within three days of each other. One series carrying a channel’s whole month is not something we can generalise from a single window, but it is worth watching for in September.
Read across the rows and the hooks that travelled are the ones the wider catalogue already runs on: sacrifice-and-betrayal, hidden-identity reveals (a supposed car washer who “reclaimed my galactic throne”), forced or flash marriage, mafia-and-secret-baby combinations, and fated-mate werewolf framing. We are reading titles only — we have not watched any of these, and we make no claim about plot quality, episode count or how any of it resolves.
What This Doesn’t Cover
- Views are a snapshot, not a tally. Read 1 September; anything posted in the last week of August is still accumulating.
- “Full-length” means over three minutes, not a complete series. We cannot tell from duration whether an upload is episode one of twenty or the whole thing. That needs checking against the app, and we have not done it.
- Our collection reaches 300 videos per channel per run. Every channel’s August is complete under that limit — the earliest August upload is well inside the window for all nine — but the same is not true for earlier months.
- Pine Drama posted nothing. It has been silent since November 2024, and its absence here is a fact about the channel, not a gap in our data.
- Nothing here describes any app’s catalogue. YouTube is a promotional surface. What a channel posts and what its app carries are different sets.
Every figure above comes from data/youtube/analysis/august-2026.json, regenerated from the raw corpus by scripts/month-window.mjs --month 2026-08 rather than assembled by hand, so anyone re-running it against the same corpus gets the same numbers we did. The corpus itself now holds 3,385 videos across the ten channels.
